Using the service

MaryamsList connects families for marriage introductions. You must be 18 or older to hold an account, and every profile must be for a person aged 18 or older. If you create a profile for someone else, you confirm they know about it and agree, and they must approve it from their own login.

Your account

Give accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or remove accounts that contain false information, impersonate someone, or break these terms.

How introductions work

• A parent or relative can browse profiles and recommend them to their son or daughter, or mark them not recommended. This is advice only.
• Only the son or daughter can show interest, accept or decline.
• A conversation opens only when both people have said yes, and both have a paid family membership and a verified ID.
• Each person can have up to 3 active conversations at a time and can end a conversation at any time.
• Messages are private to the two people. Parents cannot read them.

Reporting, blocking and deleting your account

You can report any profile from the app. The son or daughter can block someone; the two people are then hidden from each other and any conversation ends. You can delete your own login at any time from Account, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Conduct

• Treat other members with respect.
• Do not harass, deceive, ask for money from, or misrepresent yourself to other members.
• Do not copy, screenshot or share another member's profile, photos or messages outside MaryamsList, except with the Share button.
• Use MaryamsList only for genuine marriage introductions.

Zero tolerance: trafficking, exploitation and abuse

Human trafficking and sexual exploitation are strictly prohibited on MaryamsList. You may not use the service to recruit, transport, harbour, transfer or receive any person for the purpose of exploitation, forced labour, servitude, forced or coerced marriage, prostitution, escorting or any commercial sexual activity. You may not aid, abet, facilitate or encourage abuse, exploitation, coercion, stalking or violence against any person, and you may not create or share sexually explicit content or any content involving a minor.

The service is strictly for adults aged 18 or over; the age of every person who messages is confirmed from a government photo ID before they can message anyone. Accounts that breach this section are removed immediately and permanently, and we report to law enforcement and, where a child is involved, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Our Acceptable Use Policy sets out the full list of prohibited conduct and forms part of these terms.

SMS program terms

By entering your mobile number and ticking the consent box, you agree to receive account texts from MaryamsList: one-time codes, reminders to finish your profile or ID check, introduction alerts and reminders, and masjid introduction suggestions. We do not send marketing texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase or of using MaryamsList.

Membership

• Free: create your family's profile, see 3 profiles a day with photos hidden, and say you're interested.
• Monthly family membership: unlimited profiles, photos once your son or daughter's ID is verified, and conversations. One membership covers the whole family.

Membership is not open yet. Before you pay, we will show the price, how billing and cancelling work, and our refund policy. Payments will be processed by Stripe. We never charge per message.

Masjid partners

Masjid accounts are approved by our team and may verify members of their congregation and suggest introductions. Partner masjids must handle member information confidentially and only act with member permission.

No guarantee

We provide a platform for introductions. We do not guarantee matches, outcomes, or the accuracy of any member's information, and we are not responsible for interactions that happen off the platform. Verify information independently before making commitments.
